Our Story: Premier Beekeeping Services in Nebraska

Hopkins Hives began with a simple fascination. Our goal was to provide premierbeekeeping servicesin Nebraska. We started with just two nucs of Carniolan honey bees. Since then, we have grown through a dedicated season of discovery. We focus on mastering the fundamentals required to run a healthy apiary.

As a result of our passion, our colonies expanded quickly. What started as a backyard endeavor evolved into a sophisticated operation. Furthermore, we gained the specialized knowledge necessary to scale our honey farm. We now establish new apiaries across the entire region.

Rooted in the Local Nebraska Landscape

We believe that great honey starts with a great environment. By fostering strong partnerships with local landowners, we are able to place our hives in the most abundant, untouched fields in Nebraska. The result is a premium, locally-sourced wildflower honey that truly captures the flavor of our home state.

Who is Caleb Hopkins?

Caleb has spent the last 15 years in the aviation world as an A&P Mechanic, Avionics Technician, Chief Inspector, and Director of Avionics. However, his experience in high-stress, high-demand environments made beekeeping a perfect fit. Caleb’s dedication and ability to find solutions under pressure have allowed him to overcome every obstacle in his path.

While beekeeping may not have been his first career, it is now his primary passion. He is constantly learning and improving his techniques and abilities. Additionally, Caleb relishes sharing his love of the honeybee with people of all ages and frequently provides observation hives for school presentations and events. As he says, “Once a child begins the search for the Queen, they are hooked on knowing more.”
